MY FIRST NBA GAME - OUCH!

When I was 9 years old, my Dad took me and my two older brothers to our first Celtics game. We were so excited to see our heroes Jo Jo White, Dave Cowens, and John Havlicek, that when we finally arrived at the Boston Garden, my brother raced out of the car and slammed the door behind him, just as I was getting out. WHAM! I was inside the car and my hand was stuck in the door! I was panicking because the door wouldn’t open, as my brother was yelling outside the car, “UNLOCK THE DOOR”. I regained enough composure to lift the lock and he opened the door. Luckily my hand was only bruised, so I got to watch the game… in pain with my hand wrapped in ice. In the 4th quarter, Havlicek injured his shoulder, missed both his foul shots (which was very unusual for him), and he had to leave the game. It took longer for me start shooting basketballs again than it did for him, so I’m pretty sure that my memory of that night was more deeply seared into my mind than his. So much so, that I so wanted to stop other people from having their hands slammed in doors, that I started this company!

What’s your door slam story? Please share – it’s cathartic to let it out, and other people will be interested to read it.
