Will SAFESLAM prevent door slam injuries?
When installed properly (which is easy to do - no tools required), SAFESLAM will prevent most door slam injuries. Unlike other finger pinch guards, SAFESLAM remains on the door even when closed, and springs into safety position as soon as the door opens. Check regularly to ensure that the product is installed firmly around the shank with the bumper rotated in front of the door's edge.
Of course, no product should be relied upon to replace adult supervision or to prevent all injuries.
Does SAFESLAM fit all door knobs & handles?
SAFESLAM fits nearly all common doorknobs and handles. If the shank (the shaft connecting the knob to the door) is very thin or thick, use a string to measure its circumference. SAFESLAM fits shanks from 55mm-110mm in diameter.
Also, the vast majority of shanks rotate when the handle is turned. But if your shank remains fixed, SAFESLAM will still stop door slams, but will need to be flexed upward manually to close the door.

Can I move SAFESLAM to another door?
You can put SAFESLAM on any door, and move it as many times as you like. Just make sure it is always securely fastened so it remains at the correct angle to block the door when it is closing.
